Let me cut to the chase, my friend. I feel you. You want senior photos, but you’re overwhelmed and don’t know where to start.

  • It’s senior year and you want amazing photos…

  • You haven’t booked a portrait session…

  • If you had a do-over, you would’ve started the process earlier…

…but now you feel behind and a little lost. Sound familiar?

I know this feeling all too well. But I have some good news for you! You are NOT behind because I’m here to help with some tips on choosing the perfect location for your senior photos.

1. That special place

Choosing a location that is meaningful to you will help create incredible portraits that you’ll still love 20 years from now.  Like the ice cream shop you go to with your friends every summer, the quiet park bench where you sit down to read your favorite book, the gathering spot in town where you and your friends like hangout or the field where you made that spectacular play!

2. It’s all about your personality

Consider your hobbies, interests, and favorite activities. Are you into music, playing sports, love to paint or read? Choosing locations like a music store, local library, tennis courts or even your school can serve as the perfect backdrop for a personalized senior portrait session.

3. Nature Lover

Are you dreaming of being photographed in a field of flowers or maybe in a foresty location? No need to worry because nature can be found all around you. The options are endless, like your local park, the lake, someone’s back yard or even the side of the road can make amazing locations for one of a kind senior portraits.

4. City Girl

If you are looking for something more urban, there is no need to travel “downtown”. There are always cute coffee shops, city squares, train stations or brick walls that can be used as backdrops for your senior photos.

5. Consider your outfits

Your choice of outfits can be a big deciding factor to determine where to go for your senior portraits. If you envision yourself in a summer dress and a floppy hat, then the best location for you can be by the beach or a lake. When what you wear is the main focus of your plan for your senior photos, then let your wardrobe help you decide the location.
